Julia Child strives to master the art of French cooking and a modern-day protégé tries to follow in her footsteps in Julie and Julia, the Asheboro Public Library’s Movie Monday at 2 p.m. January 11.Meryl Streep plays Child, and Amy Adams plays Julie, the young woman who vows to cook all 524 recipes in Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking while blogging about the experience. The film follows both women who, though separated by time and space, discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible.
