ASHEBORO – Storyteller
Ron Jones will present a Halloween-themed “Ghostly Stories for Families” at 6
p.m. Thursday, October 23, at the Asheboro Public Library.
Jones’s appearance, sponsored by the Friends of the library,
is free and the public is invited. Refreshments will be provided.
Jones, a former children’s librarian, library administrator
and consultant, has been a professional storyteller for ten years. But he has
been sharing stories and songs with audiences of all ages for more than 30
years, and has performed throughout the southeast, in Canada and in Mexico.
He is a founding member and past-president of the North
Carolina Storytelling Guild, and has been awarded the Order of the Long Leaf
Pine, North Carolina’s highest civilian honor.
